After applying Froyo (Android 2.2) into my HTC Magic, I found that the custom ROM with HTC sense is still my cup of tea.
Here are the collection of custom ROMs with HTC Sense (Android 2.1) I want to share with you.
HTC Magic requirements
HTC Magic 32A ONLY
SPL : 1.76.2007
Radio : Refer to each ROM’s requirement stated below.

Based on Roger 3.54.631.3
Radio : 6.35.16.19There are 2 types of Full ROM , BASE and ML (Multilanguage)You have to flash the Full ROM version 4.0 in order to update to 4.03

Wipe
- Wipe data/factory reset :: Wipe /data and /cache
- Wipe Dalvik-cache :: Wipe /cache/dalvik-cache
Try to Wipe these both.

I have got the OTA Froyo update from Vodafone UK on my Magic and am loving it- but I want to put HTC Sense on it (using instructions here: http://www.htc.com/hk-en/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=765&news_id=355). Its HTC ROM Version: 3.03.990.6
Do you know whether doing so will take me backwards from android version 2.2.1? As in will I be reverted back to an older base ROM and lose the updated froyo features?
And second question- if I do the HTC ROM upgrade and want to revert back by doing a factory reset will it come back to life with 2.2.1 version or go back to what the phone originally came with?
it looks to be made for professionals.

HTC Magic is the first version of Android phone in the market. Asia Pacific version came without Android Market. The purpose of root it is to get the android market access.
Latest Android Phones such as, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire HD , HTC Desire Z , Nexus S (latest google phone) are so great ! All of them comes with Android Market by default. You can try it from the digital gadget store nearby, the performance is so great, especially Nexus S.

Before proceed to the Android 2.1 , you have to root your phone first. Based on the info posted, you’re having a Perfected SPL.
That’s means you can not flash any ROM above !
