How to change your voting station before Election in Malaysia ?

Many people are asking the same question before the General Election.Before you change the voting station, go to the website below to check your current voting station.

Go to the ELECTION COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA website http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/daftarj/

Enter your NRIC (Identification Card Number) for searching

Voter's detail information

Voter’s voting station is decided by the Address on your MyKad (Identification Card).

In order to change the voting station, you have to make sure that the Address stated on your MyKad Identification Card (NRIC) is updated.

How to update the Address on the Identification Card MyKad ?

Go to the any nearest National Registration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Pendaftaran Malaysia) branches to request for changing the address.

There are 2 ways to update the Address:

  1. Change the Identification Card WITH new card application.
    - Filling the new card application form.
    - Takes a passport size photo.
    - Pay RM 10 for processing fee.
    - Wait for 3 – 4 weeks to get the new card.
  2. Change the Address on the chip only WITHOUT new  card application.
    - Filling the update Address form.
    - Pay RM 2 for processing fee.
    - No waiting.

After you’ve done the step, go to any nearby Post Offices request to transfer the voting station by fill up an application form and scanning your MyKad (Identification Card) with new Address.

The process of transferring the voting station will takes about 4 – 6 months time to complete.

    and the response is ” this website is not found”

    Hi,

    II did changed my identity card address and now want to transfer the voting station, but refer to info related, it takes 4 to 6 mths to process the transfer?

    What about if insufficient time to proceed the said (transfer station) as election is coming very soon.

    sorry to bother..was wondering if the holder of the IC must be present or not by the time to change the address in the chip at Jabatan Pendaftaran Malaysia..??

    Can I change my IC but not update my polling station till later? Worried I may miss the election completely :)
